Ballycadden Wind Farm Scholarship

Ballycadden Wind Farm have been awarding a third level scholarship to Bunclody VC graduates for a number of years now. We are delighted to announce that this is to continue for the academic year 2020-2021. Ballycadden Wind Farm have announced that they are awarding a scholarship valued at €1,000 to one Leaving Certificate student from Bunclody Vocational College. The scholarship is available for the first year of the student's third-level course.

Applicants must:

  • Be attending Bunclody Vocational College.
  • Be a Leaving Certificate student applying for admission to any publicly funded University or third level institution in Ireland.

Ballycadden Wind Farm will evaluate the merits and eligibility of the candidates.

Therefore candidates should write a personal statement of no more than 500 words demonstrating their ability to meet the following criteria;

  • Why they are choosing to study their chosen course.
  • How the scholarship would be of benefit to them starting out on their third-level studies.
  • Their commitment to their community.
  • Any non academic achievements.
  • Roles of responsibility or voluntary activities undertaken in the past either in school or in their community.
  • Any difficulty which may interfere with them reaching their full potential in their chosen area of study. (i.e. financial etc.)

The deadline for applications is: Friday 8th August

After the Leaving Certificate Results:

All candidates who have applied for the scholarship will be contacted to find out if they have been offered a Third Level Place.

  • The successful candidate will be informed that they will be receiving the scholarship when they provide written confirmation of their place in a third level university or institution.
  • On receipt of the written confirmation the student will be awarded a cheque for €1,000

Ballycadden Wind Farm reserve all rights to modify at any time and to terminate the scholarship and to make whatever decisions in regard to the running of this scholarship scheme

The 2024 Summer Programme was in full swing in Bunclody Community College for the past two weeks and culminated today with a trip to the cinema and the Dome in Carlow.
