Wellbeing with Mr. Porter

Attitudes and decisions determine successful people. Why not use the next few weeks as an opportunity to grow by trying something new?

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well. I would like to let you know that I will be posting once a week to touch base with you all. One piece of advice I would like to give you is this: try to see the next few weeks as an opportunity to grow in areas you wouldn’t otherwise have the time to. Set yourselves goals and challenges. Before the end of the month, what will you achieve? Can you learn something new? How many books do you want to read? What new skill do you want to learn? Remember attitudes and your decisions determine successful people from others so try to avoid bingeing Netflix for the next few weeks, Aim high, create goals and tasks for each day and use this time wisely for personal growth.

The following link https://www.ncge.ie/pilot/work-experience/resources will bring you to a really good website I came across on twitter. It is a wellbeing wall with lots of good resources, activities and challenges that you may find interesting.

Why not take a look, you might find something to inspire you to achieve during the next few weeks.

  • Maybe it’s to create a podcast?
  • How to make animae?
  • Free French classes or start dualingo and learn a language?
  • Start your day with morning meditations, yoga or a home workout?
  • Are you a Harry Potter fan? There is something in the link for you too.
  • Learn how to code or edit or make at home movie!!

So get creative, what will you achieve during this lockdown? Studies have shown that our mental health and quality of life improves when we set goals and tasks for ourselves.

Finally, I will leave you with the quarantine questions that are on the wellbeing wall which I would encourage you to write in a diary or journal:

1: What am I grateful for today?

2: Who am I checking in on or connecting with today?

3: What expectations of normal am I letting go of today?

4: How am I getting outside today and away from my screen and phone?

5: How am I moving my body today?

6: What beauty am I either creating, cultivating or inviting today?

Stay safe,

Mr. Porter.
